Ramekega

RAMEKEGA is a California-based alternative band, which was officially formed in September 2007 and is comprised of singers/songwriters/sisters KELLI (rhythm guitar, keyboards, vocals), GABRIELLE (drums, percussion, vocals), and KAIRA POZON (bass, vocals).

That’s pretty much it. Now, a more interesting aside would be that the bassist, only ten years old at the time, played on the tracks of the band’s latest self-titled (and still unreleased) album: RAMEKEGA. A full-length 12-song album in just two days! Now, this, after just having acquired the bass guitar as a gift for her 9th birthday. Are there witnesses that this actually occurred? Yes – there are. And, no, the band mates are not slave-drivers. So, back to the regular programming.

Campbell Antrim

Dad’s heart belonged to Glasgow, but Mum’s longed for Ireland. Growing up with this division sowed the seeds of Campbell Antrim’s musical inclines. Years later, living in the musical hot-bed of New Orleans for a while, helped to cultivate those seeds.

And now, sobering up a bit has brought to harvest a timeless sound that is both timely with observation and advice, and time-honouring with respect and rendition.

“It’s hard to shake the sentimental sadness of the Irish. So the Blues is an obvious reflection of it.”

“… and just under the skin of the Scots is so much anger and resentment, that it begs to come out with a loud guitar.”

The beautifully bitter heartbreak in “Ther’s Morr Tae Lyf” makes for a classic wrenching torch song. With such a soaring melody that you could, one day, imagine it being heard, hollered from the top of Hampden. And the full-throttled (and full throated) version of Roger Waters’ “Paranoid Eyes” would crack even Mr Waters’ famed stoney cynicism. There’s no shortage of leg-shakin in this music. And no time for tears as it whips from a wink at Fats Domino to a nod to the Irish Rovers.

Whatever Campbell Antrim is is whatever is being sung.

Paul Inman’s Delivery

Paul Inman’s Delivery is comprised of singer-songwriter-guitarist/pianist Paul Inman and current drummer Johnny Ray (occasionally Ron Pak) along with bassist Steve Seifert (occassionally Rick Smith), and keyboardist John Bird.

Born and raised near Detroit Michigan, Inman digested much from that locale’s sonic landscape before emigrating to Los Angeles where he absorbed the Americana/folk stylings of California’s most compelling artists (The Band, Tom Waits, The Heartbreakers, The Buffalo Springfield, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Blood on The Tracks/Desire era Dylan, Van Morrison’s Hard Nose the Highway), blending them into a compelling Gothic-tinged folk/pop/rock delivery.

Touring both as a trio and as a solo acoustic guitar and piano act, Paul Inman’s Delivery have released 4 full-length CD’s of deftly performed gothic-tinged americana infused with folk and pop. Their latest, Songs Of The Broken Earth, further expands their sonic palette to incorporate blues and electronic stylings, while remaining embedded in the americana and roots rock genre.

They tour intermittently both in the U.S. and in Europe while continuing to record new material. They have shared stages with the likes of Marc Olsen and Victoria Williams (Creek Dippers), Gram Rabbit, Lucinda Williams, and The Jayhawks. They are looking to release a new CD later this year.
