Emily Zisman

Emily Zisman is an unapologetic storyteller of the contemporary woman’s experience. She uses unabashed honesty and humor to punctuate the complexity of the entire escapade. Emily found her way to songwriting as an outlet for her struggles when she was studying to be an actress in New York City. Over time, she realized that songwriting and sharing her personal stories connected her more closely to her community than her attempts to be an actress. The more raw and candid her songs were, the more people seemed to be drawn in. So, she packed up and moved back to California to pursue writing more studiously. Hilarity and devastation continue to ensue, and so in turn does she.

Mercy Jones

Mercy Jones brings funky bluesy rock originals to Los Angeles.

Chris Nash has a signature blues style only he can play, with complex finger-picking and slide guitar. Nash’s vocal resonation is far reaching, emphasized by fine-tuned, melodic tones. Nash was originally discovered by John Hammond Sr., at the age of fourteen. He hitchhiked across country one year later, busking on Venice beach and Westwood Village, being discovered by Barry Josephson and represented by Gallin Morey Associates, as well as CAA. Chris has had several publishing deals, was in popular film and TV, and his band was featured in Rolling Stone magazines, as well as other national publications.

Jenny Zepp (vocals and harmonica): Adding another layer to Mercy Jones is the raw energy of Jenny Zepp, magnetizing their live shows. She lights up the stage, yet writing is her main passion. Working with Chris Nash for several years, they have been able to create the lyrical messaging together, which centers on the angel of mercy, Mercy Jones, who is meant to raise the vibration of humanity through the sounds and words of the collective group.

Carol McArthur (vocals & guitar): This singer/songwriter has â The Voice of an Angel, and we agree with reviewer Joe Stats referring to her solo album “How Good it Feels” featuring Dan Weinstein and Brad Kay. She has been performing in front of an audience since age six and has performed with the likes of Gerry Goffin, Barry Goldberg, The Bonedaddys, and many more. Her influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Kate Bush, The Beatles, Elton John, and Nina Simone, to name a few.

Dave Tops (guitar): He studied at New York University and then cut his chops in New York City playing blues, hard rock, heavy metal, and pretty much every other genre available to him. He’ s known mostly for session work, playing live, as well as being a member of the band, Sez Who, out of New York. He has over twenty-five years of experience teaching children and adults song writing and guitar, and he also plays the mandolin.

Kevin Gerald

Kevin Gerald is an acoustic singer songwriter who believes that it is the artist’s job to live life, stay observant and report back. Spinning aural sketches of the colorful beings who populate the material plane and beyond, Kevin coined the phrase esoteric indie to describe his music.

Born in Santa Monica, Kevin grew up on the beaches of Southern California and has surfed and played his original music as a solo act and in bands for most of his life. His early influences include the Beatles, Neil Young, Cat Stevens, the Eagles, Van Morrison, Elvis Costello and Bryan Ferry. His songs are of a narrative storytelling nature that keep his listeners engaged and relaxed. His lyrics are rich in sensory descriptions and observations of the human condition.

Matt Moody

I’ve always struggled with this. I’m a songwriter, a singer, a guitar player, a friend, a lover, a dreamer; human. I write what I feel. I write to tell the truth.

I grew up in a suburb outside of Cleveland. A grey town most of the year, but beautiful when the sun hits it. Something that has inevitably made it’s way into my music. Keeping my emotions at bay has always been a challenge for me. In my youth I had struggled with it a great deal. I was a hockey player as a kid and would channel it through that, until I had knowingly heard Nirvana for the first time. That changed everything for me.

I had found the outlet I was looking for and ran with it. Playing in various grunge and rock bands over the years eventually lead me to where I am now, musically.
