Elona Planman and Joe DiLeo

Elona Planman from Sweden writes sharp, clever, socially critical songs about our time. With guitar and harmonica, she is constantly in search of the truth, the adventure and the stories of life. She got an art grant to go to the United States to collaborate with the American Songwriter David Rovics.

On tour through the US two months ago, she found a new band member in San Francisco, the great musician Joe DiLeo. They will now take over the world together, shadow by shadow.

Mercy Sakes

Mercy Sakes makes music inspired by fierce old folk tunes. He was born in Oklahoma but raised on the corners of the earth. An army kid, he lived in eight different houses by his tenth birthday. Being from nowhere was about the same as being from everywhere, which he translated into a deep and wide taste in music.

Ever since he first felt sound tug on his heart he has wanted to make noise that could do just that. He’s lived in the south, the north, the midwest, and the west, not to mention the years spent abroad as a kid. He currently lives in Southern California and plans on sticking around for a little while this time.

Michael Jost

Born in Dreieich, just outside of Frankfurt Germany, guitarist Michael Jost (pronounced ‘yoast’), found his way to the bohemian Venice Beach boardwalk, in Los Angeles California, where he now lives and makes music.

Owing to Michael’s unique European heritage, his rigorous classical training, and his 21st Century American experience, you can hear something very different in his passionate, Spanish-style guitar. Michael’s travel companion is Miss Lucy, a Flamenca guitar built by Tomas Delgado of Candelas Guitars. She has a strong character, with a warm and beautiful sound.

Michael has a unique sound. His music is a journey in time and space fueled by his passion for music and his instrument. His influences are very multicoloured and involve different styles, continents and time periods from Paco De Lucia and Stravinsky to Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd.

No two of Michael’s live performances are ever the same, drawing from his recent albums, Zeitlos and California Burning, as well as unreleased songs from his upcoming album, Concierto.

Zeitlos is a timeless and unique blend of acoustic, classical and flamenco styles, entwined with the sounds and soul of Venice, California. His earlier album, California Burning, is a psychedelic fusion of electric and acoustic guitar. more Michael Jost »
