Will Overman’s incomparable voice — he made it through two levels of NBC’s “The Voice” — is at once melodic as it is relentless, as refreshingly unique as it is familiar and evocative.
Overman’s music — call it Americana, a mix of folk, country, rock, and pop — is as energetic as it is passionate. It can be haunting and evocative yet sincere, sweet.
Whether performing solo or with a full band, Overman is a poet, reminiscent of a young Bruce Springsteen, (think “Nebraska”) or Bob Dylan. He’s a folksinger and a rocker (think “Born to Run”), whether performing solo or fronting a talented group of musicians swinging from flawless riffs to intoxicating beats.
And while his music is rooted deeply in the South, it transcends genres and convention, blending essential elements of rock, folk, and country, wrapped in a thin varnish of pop sensibility, to create a concoction reminiscent of Ryan Adams, Josh Ritter, with the softness of James Taylor.
In 2017, Overman found himself at a crossroads, both literally and figuratively, professionally and personally. He said farewell to the band that has borne his name over the past several years and embarked on his first solo project since 2013.
“Crossroads,” his upcoming EP produced by Rockfish Music, is without a doubt his most self-reflective work yet. He recently submitted one of the singles, “Decatur”, to NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert. “Crossroads” is slated for a December 7th release.

Maestro Aloke Dasgupta
Maestro Aloke Dasgupta is among the most outstanding and original sitar players in the North Indian classical style. With his mature style and compositions all his own and traditional music what he learn from great maestros, he draws the memory back nostalgically to the past greats of sitar, while at the same time revealing an awareness of contemporary, international movements, such as Jazz, new-age and world music.
After studying with his late uncle Binoy Dasgupta starting at the age of eleven, he became a student of Pundit Jogesh Bannerjee, Professor Shiba Prasad Chakraborty, Smt.Kalyani Roy and finally the renowned master Late Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. Continue reading Maestro Aloke Dasgupta
The Elegant Strangers
The Elegant Strangers formed spontaneously at the Westminster Corridor of Venice, CA. This is an area where some of the most gifted artists and musicians come to grab a cup of coffee and some conversation. The band is a bit of a mutation of the erstwhile Venice Roasters, keeping up their tradition of “roasting” (putting an upbeat, two-step tempo) to classic pop and rock music. Anus Kings
Anus Kings has been a musical duo since 2006. They love Bad Brains, The Minutemen, Primus and Gillian Welch. The name is supposedly from a Butthole Surfers song. They have performed with bands such as Blackbird Raum, FIDLAR, Cool Moms, Big Sexy, The Shrine, The Chuck Dukowski Sextet, Basement, Hermit Thrushes, [Post-Foetus], and This Bike Is a Pipe Bomb. They are based out of Los Angeles.
In late 2013, Anus Kings wrote and recorded the album “Red, White and Blue” in Miami as Sunny War Band, released in 2015. Nino Moreno joins them live on drums. Their third full length album is “Days of Rain”.

The Strands
The Strands, formed in late 2011, have been gaining critical acclaim with their genre defying sound that they like to call Artisanal. With an emphasis on thoughtful and provocative lyrics The Strands groove as lead singer, British Soul Singer Amanda Campbell, delivers their original material with passion and style. Campbell, along with other band members has recorded with one of rock and roll’s greats, Andy Johns.
On lead guitar is Richard Green, playing elegant and restrained rhythms and solos. Richard Green is a seasoned music veteran who has played the L.A. nightclub and recording scene for many years. Green studied music at Cal State University with renowned saxophone and flute player, Buddy Collett, and has toured nationally and recorded with The Whispers. In 2007 Green was inducted into the West Coast Blues Hall of Fame. A force of energy onstage, while performing Green grooves with his hands, body and soul.
On keys and background vocals is pianist, composer, songwriter, teacher and poet, Susan Ferrari. Susan has been playing music all her life. She was taught by her grandmother to read music at an early age, and was forming garage bands in her teens. While getting a graduate degree in music composition at Northwestern University, she studied computer music, and at the New England Conservatory, under noted jazz pianist Ran Blake Ferrari began her mastery of contemporary improvisation. In Chicago, Ferrari wrote music for Lookinglass Theater, performed regularly at new music venues, as well as in the poetry band Brass Orchid, and recorded with Dinky Dawson and Andy Johns. Ferrari’s smart, poetic lyrics, keyboard virtuosity and gorgeous vocal harmonies distinguish her work.
On bass is Strands’ founder, Paul Campbell. Paul studied bass primarily with band member and bass master, Richard Green. In 2011, his vision streamlined the band into the tight-knit and provocative band that makes up The Strands today.
Joining The Strands on drums for their L.A. gigs, is local legend Lance Tamanaha, who has been holding down the groove since he was 12 years old.
The Strands are a treat to hear and to watch.

DEAN is Isaac Irvin (guitar/vocals), Michael Jost (bass) and Kevin Witucki (drums).
Following the 2015 solo EP release, primary songwriter and guitarist Isaac Irvin didn’t give fans any time to lament instead he hit the ground running with his new project DEAN, a harder-edged continuation of his work. Since then Isaac has proven himself quite the frontman, impressing audiences around LA with rollicking performances of tunes like “Walk Away” and “Alive”. He throws in a few classic numbers like “Silverlake” and “holding on to you” for good measure, ensuring fans both old and new get to rock out to their favorite jams.

Matthias Baumgardt
Matthias Baumgardt, born in 1963 Frankfurt-Germany as the seventh and youngest child. There were a lot of records from the 60s by my brothers and sisters and also Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald from my mother in the house. So I started playing guitar when I was nine years old and had my first gig when I was 12. I quit school when I was 16 and went on tour with a Band called “Strassenjungs”. This is what I´m still doing, playing music for my living and having fun.

Tony Clark
Tony Clark is the lead singer of Tony Clark and Killing Time.
Tall dark trees … the stench of rotting seaweed and oysters, lingering mist wafting over hills and towns. And the slightly deranged humour of a race of men that run around in logger shirts drinking cappuccino – all these things are quite apparent in Tony Clark’s songs, but the German based Seattle native does have more to offer.
Years travelling the globe, sitting in the Himalayas meditating over a sitar, playing the streets of Europe with South American Indians, or bearing the icy cold waterfall of a Japanese zen monastery – all these have left a trace in Tony’s musical oeuvre.
Tony: “At some point, I decided the rock song was the right cup, the flask, the vehicle for conveying my ideas. I tried other things, but it was all too much of a compromise. I´m happy if I can write a good rock song, with some spices thrown in for good measure.”
Tony Clark and Killing Time is Tony on vocals, Sascha Baransky on drums, and Willy Wagner on bass – they’ve have been killing time for a few years, doing gigs around Europe and recording stuff when they feel like it.
