Based in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, Sankaran is a 4-piece led by Indian-Vietnamese songwriter Jasmine Sankaran. Jasmine began writing songs in her bedroom, shrouded in the obscurity of Ventura County’s suburban labyrinth. After graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in Creative Writing, she realized she had written more songs in college than short stories…

The band emerged from the bowels of the LA River in late-2016 and includes Tristan “Trashbag” Starr (bass), Aviel “Mann Balls” Ballo (drums), and Kevin “Nashcan” Nash. Now in their second year and playing under more inclusive band name, the four friends pull from their diverse musical backgrounds in indie, punk, prog rock, shoegaze, and disco to create their mysterious melodic arrangements. They have graced stages all across LA and played as part of moonroom’s #APAHM festival and Echo Park Rising 2018. The band dreams of one day playing #Coachella2012 and hopes to fund their first tour via Tecate sponsorship.

Their debut LP, Interesting Times, is an anti-corporate feminist manifesto recorded entirely DIY by the band members out of their practice space, living rooms, and home offices on borrowed equipment.

Runson Willis

He never misses a note. With over 10 years of experience with the guitar combined with his extensive performing and touring record, Runson Willis is finally ready to embark on his solo career. The Los Angeles based artist, calls on his idols, Isaac Hayes, Aretha Franklin, Willie Guthrie and Willie Nelson as constant reminder of the level of greatness he is working toward. With roots in the deep south, you can hear the soul in every lyric he sings and note he plays.

Runson is geared up and ready to bring his music to the world! From his own words:

“this guitar is noisy, beat up and it may have a lot of scratches on it. But it’s true, it’s lasted a long time and it hasn’t gone anywhere. And I think it’s like me.”

Chris Nash

Chris Nash is a prolific songwriter with deep rooted history in Hollywood and the music industry. Music has always been his passion. His lifting melodies and moving messages come from life lessons, loss and love.

Chris Nash has a signature blues style with complex finger-picking and slide guitar. Nash’s vocal resonation is far reaching, emphasized by fine-tuned, melodic tones. Nash was originally discovered by John Hammond Sr., at the age of fourteen. He hitchhiked across country one year later, busking on Venice beach and Westwood Village, being discovered by Barry Josephson and represented by Gallin Morey Associates, as well as CAA. Chris has had several publishing deals, was in popular film and TV, and his band was featured in Rolling Stone magazines, as well as other national publications.

Paracosmic

Paracosmic is a collaborative project of musicians from various parts of California and the United States. The band’s sound can be described as a funk-based improv flow, incorporating rock and blues with a keen taste for the psychedelic soundscape.

Forming through the deep seeded dreams of 4 individuals, Paracosmic began in 2015 in Los Angeles through mutual friends in the southern California music scene and festival circuits. Since then, the band has grown to a 6 piece and along with playing several staple venues in Los Angeles, are making their way onto Festival line-ups with their favorite artists.

So what does the name mean? Paracosmic is the adjective of the word Paracosm, which is a detailed, imaginary world. Within that concept the 6 musicians aim to take you on a very lucid yet imaginary funk voyage through your mind and reality simultaneously for a rockin good time!

His unique blend of western and eastern flavors create an incredible array of sounds and textures that have wowed audience throughout the west coast of the United States. Evan Hatfield’s mission is to create peace in the hearts and minds of all who hear the beautiful sounds of his sitar and energetic vibrations of his music.

The Mike Livingston Band

The Mike Livingston Band’s All-American musical throwdown is a wild amalgam of country, soul and rock & roll, all emphatically put across with Livingston’s frantic 88 keys and authoritative vocals and the coolly propulsive rhythm section of drummer Adam Steinberg and bassist Ben Getting.

It’s a highly unlikely and deliciously volatile combination—down and dirty street-smart and sleek, after-hours stylish, it’s equal parts Deep Southern blue yodel and classic 70s Hollywood punk strut, a recipe for disaster that nonetheless functions perfectly, thanks to the lurid pedigree of the players.

Livingston, of course, is infamous for both his late 70s stint as lead guitarist for Masque-era punk originators the Mau Maus and his appearance in Richard Meltzer’s Vom movie before moving on to stints with his own powerhouse trio the Livingstons, a marvelous collaboration with 77 Skulls frontman’s the Billy Bones and the brilliant, resuscitated 66 Sunset Strip psych-pop sensations Yellow Payges.

Livingston returned to the piano first with The Livingston Band featuring Dave Provost a former musical compatriot in the Yellow Payges and Brian Irving and then later, Adam Steinberg gladly pitched in and in short order they drafted upright Bassist Ben Getting, The results were spectacular—a hard-driving, deep-grooving blast of honky tonk roadhouse boogie and savage punk & roll.

With a repertoire that includes original Livingston thrillers, exotic plunder from the rock & roll jungle (Cramps, Jerry Lee Lewis, Teddy Boy thug Crazy Cavan) and shrewdly sourced soul and bluegrass classics, the Mike Livingston Band’s— high-quality, low-down and thoroughly mad-dog sound rates them as one of the most exciting forces in 21st century nightclub wildlife.

Talia is currently focused on two main projects, Talia Keys & The Love, a heavy hitting five member band and Gemini Mind, a full electric solo live looping show that creates a big sound. In addition to performing, she writes, produces and records her original material, releasing four albums so far.

How Mean

Lead singer/guitarist Nick Foy and drummer Sam Cook recently teamed up to form How Mean after a late night, half-baked idea came to fruition. Originally from Mass, Foy and Cook strive to offer audiences more of a show than a concert, packing a greater punch than anyone would expect from a two man act.

Drawing influence from bands like Led Zeppelin and Brand New, How Mean’s way of reimagining familiar classics makes every song sound new again, combined with an equal dose of clever, crowd-pleasing originals which, according to Cook, fall under the genre of “gentle pressure.” As they continue to play more local shows, they look forward to expanding their act across the Los Angeles music scene. “We’re not here to make a living,” Foy says. “We’re here to make a killing.”
