Chris Opperman

Chris Opperman (b. 1978, New York City) is an award-winning composer and musician, college professor, and major music industry professional.

Opperman started his record label Purple Cow Records in 1998 with the release of his first album Oppy Music, Vol. I: Purple, Crayon. which was produced by Zappa alumni Mike Keneally. Opperman’s other albums include a solo piano album Klavierstücke (2001), an album of improvised duets called Concepts of Non-Linear Time (2004), a live album Beyond the Foggy Highway (2005), a second studio rock album The Lionheart (2010) which features an entire orchestra plus rhythm section on its finale piece “The Porpentine,” a single called “Aphrodite Nights” (2011) for the gourd tree, a unique instrument invented by Harry Partch, and a jazz/rock EP Studio House (2012) which features originals plus covers of songs by Frank Zappa and Carla Bley. All of his recorded works are available for streaming on Spotify and other digital music services.

Gerry Fialka

Gerry Fialka worked for Frank Zappa for 9½ years. Artist, writer, and paramedia-breather lectures world-wide on experimental film, avant-garde art and subversive social media. Praised by the LA Times as “the multi-media Renaissance man,” and LA Weekly “a cultural revolutionary.”

His PXL THIS Film Festival celebrates 31 years of electronic folk art in 2021. His writings appear in magazines: Canyon Cinema, OtherZine, CineSource, and his new book Strange Questions: Experimental Film as Conversation. His feature film The Brother Side of the Wake (BroSide) is the experimental documentary about Venice, CA, due for release soon. Gerry’s interview series MESS.

He hosts the Marshall McLuhan-Finnegans Wake Reading Club (established 1995) and you can read his Zappa essay here.

Lisa Bremer

American soprano Lisa Bremer is currently residing in New Jersey where she is pursuing her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance at the John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University.

Lisa first starting singing in a classic rock cover band called “The Mugshots” singing Heart, Pat Benatar, etc.

Lisa’s first major opera role was Dido in Dido and Aeneas. She has sung roles such as Amy in The Battle of Bull Run Always Makes Me Cry, Dot in Sunday in the Park with George, and Miss Todd in The Old Maid and the Thief.

Lisa is also a chorus member of the MSU University Singers and Ars Musica Chorale. Lisa is a voice student of Beth Roberts and when she is not performing she is the Teaching Assistant for Dr. Heather Buchanan and Chorus Administrator for Ars Musica Chorale.
